The Beginnings - The First Specializations

1990

The First Organization as a Faculty

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering was set up as part of the newly established Technical University of Oradea. The Faculty provided education and training for the following specializations: Automation, General Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Electroenergetics, Industrial Power Engineering. The specialization “Electrical Engineering” had already been set up as part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

1992

The Reorganization of the University

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is set up, including the following specializations: Computer Science, Automation and Industrial Informatics, General Electrical Engineering, Applied Electronics and Electromechanics.

1995

Modification of the Faculty Name and the Introduction of a New Specialization

The name of the faculty becomes the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Industrial Informatics; along the existing specializations, a new one is introduced: Economic Engineering in the Electrical, Electronic and Energetic Domain.

2005

The Faculty adopts the name that is currently used

The name of the faculty is changed; it becomes the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
